Day 8....

Two more great visits today! She was much more awake this morning for her visit! We got to feed her breakfast, which looked like smashed up graham crackers and water....it smelled like cookies! Yum! She was so so excited to see us again and got a huge smile and started her happy yelling! While they got her ready we visited with the other babies in there. This is both heart breaking and heart warming to be able to give them some love and attention. A simple smile and touch brings out such huge smiles! It's hard when we walk out of there with Curlie Girlie and hear them cry as we leave :(

This afternoon when we went into the room she and a couple other babies were awake, the rest were sleeping. When she saw us she started yelling SO SO loud and happily! I kept telling her shhhh so she didn't wake the other babies but we were all laughing at her excitement. She is seriously the HAPPIEST kid I've ever known! She has recently figured out if she puts her arms up we will pick her up! I think we've created a monster....BUT she deserves to be held on demand because she's spent far too much time alone. She is learning to trust us more and more each day. If either one of us walks away (to use the restroom for example), she follows us with her eyes and seems worried. As soon as we reenter she gets very excited. I understand she's still trying to figure this whole thing out. I know right now we are two people who visit her twice a day for a few hours, but I also know that God has prepared her heart beyond that to understand she is ours forever. She has such an old soul...so much so that sometimes I feel like there is an adult in the room with us. She speaks through her eyes in a way that I've never seen before. It's a beautiful thing!

Here is a size 9 month sleeper...looks like it wont' fit her much longer!

Soon enough our angel girl will have her own clothes without the marking of her groupa on them...clothes that belong only to her!

Cheese!!! This face reminds me so much of Mila's cheese face!

Talking to her daddy!

Snuggling with mama!

Oh this girl is pure joy! So thankful for her!

"You're so funny, mama!"

She got very concerned when one of the other babes started crying :(

Getting sleepy!

Making faces with mama!

Nothing better than kisses from daddy!

This is the look she gives me when I call her name, "Yes, mama? I'm listening!"

We heard today that court *might* be a week from Friday. Not quite as soon as we were hoping, but we know God has this all planned out. He must have reasons to have us here a little longer. If this is the case, it could be possible that gotcha day could happen CHRISTMAS DAY! We wouldn't all be together, but what an amazing symbol that would be of our sweet girl being born to us!  A year ago if I heard I might be away for Christmas I probably would have cried. Now, I will be thankful and praise His name if this turns out to be the plan! Keep praying!

  8. Weren't you in the hospital last Christmas? I can't remember for sure, I'll have to go look it up. I do remember you saying that Zoya didn't know when Santa was supposed to come so Christmas would be whenever you were together.
And there is a baby there that we have gotten just glimpses of who looks like Mila. Is that true in real life or just in the pictures?

    1. No, we were supposed to be but Mila was released from the hospital EARLY! But we had already celebrated Christmas the weekend before :) Either way we would have at least been together on Christmas Day and I was okay with that but I couldn't have imagined being 5,000 miles away without Shawn and Zoya and Mila....but God is good and I know he's got this!
