8 Great Days to Go...

8 days is only a week and a day!!!! My nervousness is turning into pure excitement! I still have so much to do! I am working on getting some surprise bags together for Zoya that Aunt Jen can give her every couple of days. I got some Mickey, Elmo, Big Bird, and Dora stickers, some books, candy, jewels, a ball, some beads and some other fun things to put into little bags. I'm going to be making the bags with these surprises and I"ll put a picture of Zoya, Daddy and I in each bag to remind her that we're still "here" with her even though we're not. By far the hardest thing this time around is preparing to leave my Zoya-girl. We are attached at the hip since I've had the entire summer off and then took family medical leave from work. If you all could start praying now that Zoya would have peace when we're gone, that her anxiety would be under control, and that in her heart she will know we are returning. And the bigger prayer (probably) is that I won't bawl my eyes out the entire time I'm away from her. Seriously, this part stinks! I was not made to be apart from her! But it will all be worth it when we bring home baby girl!

Some have asked if you can still donate....YES!!! You can still click on the FSP button that says "Help Bring Harlene Home" to donate! We appreciate every dollar! We are now travelling very far from the capital city where "Harlene's" orphanage is. It is about a 15 hour train ride from the capital to her city!!! We are hoping when we break her free we can get an inter-country flight so she doesn't have to ride the train for 15 hours!! That would cost a little more money. Also, the region we are now going to has a more expensive passport that we had not originally planned on. So thank you to all of you who have already donated and to those of you who still plan to! We are very thankful!

And today's fun question.....what do you think baby girl's birth name is? (First name only) Loved hearing all your guesses on the birth date! (Oh and we do KNOW she was born in 2011, not sure if someone put 2010 by mistake or thought she was older than she is...but as far as we know she is 6 months old!)

  2. I'm going with Nastia. I picked that name because its the name of a famous Russian/American Olympic gymnast. Am I close? P.S. I love the idea of leaving goody bags for Zoya with your pictures inside. How sweet. I'm sure she'll love them!

  3. I'm guessing Anya, Bree, Emma and Hope. Just because they have 4 letters like Zoya LOL

  4. My guess is that her name is Dasha/Dariya, Elizaveta (called Leeza) or Mykhaila (a personal favorite of mine) :) I can´t wait to hear her name!

  5. Will you be keeping her birthname or renaming her?
I havent a clue what it could be but the first comment sounded good, lots of thought in that so maybe she is right. Praying for you. Be blessed

  7. I may have to steal your goody bag idea, I was just thinking yesterday about leaving a little book bag for each girl to pull something 'new' out of each time we Skype--so we have something to talk about..? And for them to look forward too :)
I'm with you, leaving them will, I think, be the hardest part :(

  8. My guess is Anastasia, Aliona and Katerina (Katia).
