I took Mila to the pediatrician today and I couldn't believe my own eyes when I put her on that scale.
11 pounds, 5 ounces!!!!!!!!!!
That means she gained FOUR POUNDS since we met her (5 weeks ago).
23 3/4 inches!!!!!!!!
That means she grew almost TWO INCHES since we met her!!
The only thing we gave her different was LOVE.
That's it.
In fact she is still on the same formula she was on in Ukraine.
Love is pretty darn powerful my friends.
She found a reason to fight!
God is good.
I still almost can't even believe how much she's grown and I'm seeing it with my own eyes.
Front row seats to the most beautiful flower blossoming right before my very eyes.
I stand in awe.
You gave her "hope" of a new life and a reason to thrive.
ReplyDeleteGo Mila!
Pretty awesome smile too. :)
Awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteI could just cry!!! What a precious little girl!!! Praise God for how He is bringing her healing!! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful I really would not think she is the same baby just amazing the power of love this is just the beginning of her life, the most important think is she has her own family!!! thank you for sharing her and zoya with us all!!!
ReplyDeleteThat photo doesn't even look like the same baby :) What a beautiful smile and glow about her!

Love grows them!
ReplyDeleteSuch a precious smile from a beautiful little girl!
So happy for your family :D
She doesn't look like the same baby...When you brought Zoya and Mila home did you ever feel guilty for putting them down, thinking they went however long without being held. I'm by NO means saying you should feel guilty, I would think I personally would never want to put them down. I guess you do have to go to the bathroom once in awhile :) Love can do so many things and Mila is an example of that for sure!!
ReplyDeleteOh I just want to pinch her cheeks :) Beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteWOW!!! Amazing, absolutly amazing!
ReplyDeleteMaybe, just maybe, her little heart will be in better shape than you have been told too. Maybe it was partially hurting because she didn't have a family to love her. Now it has got to be full of happiness to know whenever she cries you will be there and her little tears will never be in vain again. Not that I expect her to cry much, in fact I can tell she will have that same absolute glow of happiness of a very loved little girl that her sister has in all her pictures. I can't wait to hear how the doctor visit goes tomorrow. I'm praying for more positive news.
LOVE this!!
ReplyDeletePraising God - it's amazing what love can do!

Way to go Mila, grow baby grow!! She looks so much healthier and happier. Our God is a mighty God and I think you have a mighty Mila :)
ReplyDeleteThat is just amazing what love can do! I'm so happy that she was able to show her former caregivers too how much love matter. Such a precious little girl!
ReplyDeleteThat assistant director at the orphanage was NOT joking, was she? I LOVE how she was able to witness the power of and its effect on a baby no one wanted...so many people are and will be moved by this story they saw firsthand. (not just you!) I will keep praying for hearts to be changed in Ukraine...it can and will happen. For the sake of these children!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Sarah! Stunning!
ReplyDeleteShe is so precious and blessed to have her family as you are blessed for having her. God is good.
ReplyDeleteThis is great news! Mila is such a happy baby & her happiness shines through her photos.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing pictures of your beautiful baby. Keep on gaining weight little Mila. :0)
I had a psychology class one time where the teacher said orphans that had more touch/love grew more than orphans who had no touch or very little but more food. I didn't believe that then but I am seeing with my own eyes just how true that really is!! How amazing!! She looks so beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteWow. She looks like a different child. WOW. She is a gorgeous child.
ReplyDeleteWonderful sight to see! Thanks for sharing your awesome news with others so they can see with their own eyes what love can do! Got love? ADOPT!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!

Wow! Love is an amazing thing!
ReplyDeleteI have been following your journey and haven't commented yet but I just have to say what a beautiful little girl you have and that is absolutely amazing how much she has grown!
ReplyDeleteAmazing!! Mila might just have to have a new nickname "Miracle Mila"! She's just beautiful and, as others have said, does not look like the same baby you first held--so somber and tiny. I pray that you have good news tomorrow at the pediatrician! And, when you can I will enjoy reading a Zoya update too. Her smile at the airport is pure sunshine!
ReplyDeleteLove is so powerful!
ReplyDeleteShe is so absolutely precious, it's unbelievable! I would love to adopt Quinten the little man I am fundraising for through Reece's Rainbow, but I can't stand the thought of leaving my 2 boys for such long stretches of time. My oldest has Down Syndrome, Autism and Celiac Disease. BTW, I also live in PA, in Lancaster Co. Anyway, I loved reading about your experiences and I want to subscribe to your blog. Good luck and kiss that sweet baby girl for me! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy that Mila is doing so well. How is Zoya doing with the adjustment?

If that picture doesn't bring a tear to your eye....WOW!!! :) Best smile ever!! She has the same look that my babies have when they look at me and their Daddy. That look that says they KNOW they belong. Thank you for sharing. Your story gives me hope. So much hope.
ReplyDeleteShe is too cute for words!!!! I love that picture and 4 pounds that is amazing!!!!! Way to go mom and dad!!!
ReplyDeleteMila looks so good in this picture. Oh my she has just blossomed over a few days being in her Mommy's arms. How precious.
ReplyDeleteI read the post about the flight home, but just now getting to comment. OH MY GOODNESS I know my heart stopped while I read it. I was thinking oh please tell me she is okay, and then of course you said she was. Of course now it is over but I was so worried that she would need oxygen on the plane, and honestly I still think it would have helped her. However that is over and not going to happen ever again so no need to worry about it.
Please post about her appt today to let us know how her heart is doing. I agree an extra day of love from her Mommy was very much needed. From the looks of it in the picture I do not think it hurt her to wait one more day before being examined.
Love,
Sheila
