Today is the Day!

We got into region last night around 10:30 and made it to our apartment by 11. We will move to a new apartment today where we should be until court! After getting a good solid 6 hours of sleep, I am wide awake with butterflies in my stomach! We will be picked up in an hour and a half to be taken to see the regional social worker, get her permission to visit our daughter, and then we will go to the orphanage to meet her, hold her, love her, tell her she has been found forever! I can hardly even explain this feeling with words. The sun came out today for the first time since we've been here! The sun and light has been such a sigh for us in past adoptions. So when we woke up to see the sun shining through our window, it was confirmation that we are right where we are meant to be. It was a sign that the Lord is with us holding us through each step. I can feel the Lord shining down on us telling us we are here to help carry out his plan of redemption!

Dear Curlie Girlie,

You have no idea yet, but your mama and papa are right around the corner....waiting so eagerly and so full of joy. In a couple short hours you will meet us for the first time. In many ways, this day is like a birthday of sorts. Today will mark the day that you are born into your new life. We've been waiting for what seems like forever to see your face, to hold you, to look into your eyes and see your soul, to show you love you've never known before! I've played over in my head how that first meeting will go a million times. I hope you are not scared. We've prayed that the lord will prepare your heart for this big day! Soon you will see that your life is about to get a whole lot better, and so is ours! You have been sent to us by the Lord and we are so grateful to be in this exact moment in time. Sweet girl, today you get to start over, and today we get another chance to love and be loved. You have no idea how much we already love you! See you soon!

Love, Mama

  2. Hi Sarah, I've been checking since last night for updates, following you in almost "real-time" from South Africa. I can't wait for you to share todays experience with us. Hmmm, wondering if there won't be a cute little boy catching your eyes and capturing your hearts this time. It feels to me as if , this time around, more will happen than meeting your new daughter! May God bless you and give you favor wherever you go.
